When you book through Ecarz.co.uk, you can include the following coverage options:
- Basic insurance
Basic insurance includes CDW (damage insurance) and TP (theft insurance) with excess.
- Zero Excess
Here you have no excess. Any damage costs will be taken over by the local rental company.
- Excess Cover (Most Popular)
Here you do have an excess with the local rental company, but this excess is protected by Ecarz.co.uk. If damage to the rental car occurs, you will initially pay the damage costs to the local rental company yourself (up to the amount of the excess). At the end of your rental period, you can then file a claim with Ecarz.co.uk to get these costs reimbursed again.
- Extended Cover
Extended Cover means that the above coverage is extended to glass, tires, roof and undercarriage of the car. This is because these items are not covered by default in the above coverage options.
- Breakdown Cover
Covers costs related to roadside assistance. You must first advance these costs yourself, then you can file a claim with Ecarz.co.uk at the end of the rental period to get these costs reimbursed again.
The height of the excess and the deposit can differ per offer and per rental company. This information can always be found in the rental conditions of the particular offer you want to book. A link to the rental conditions can be found at the bottom of the booking page after you open an offer.
