The instructions for pick up

The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

Trapani Airport is a former military airport which is now used for commercial flights. It is known and often signposted as Vicenzo Florio Airport. The small airport is located about 13kms from the town of Trapani on the island of Sicily. It serves a wide range of domestic and European destinations and services upwards of 500,000 passengers a year.

Since budget airline, Ryanair, started using the airport it has seen a huge increase in traffic and routes. These include domestically, Pisa, Milan Linate and Rome and internationally services Brussels, Oslo, London, Frankfurt, Dublin and many more.

Trapani can be reached quickly by car hire in Trapani Airport and the coastlines of Favignana and San Vito de lo Capo are also easily accessible and popular with tourists. The airport has good road links to the main towns via the A29 Trapani-Palermo motorway which is the best way of getting to and from the towns in the rest of the region with a budget car rental.

The airport's small size means it offers minimal services to its visitors. Refreshments are available at a snack bar, there is post service and many choices for cheap car hire in Trapani Airport. The surrounding area has many interesting places to explore including some amazing archaeological sites and the beautiful nearby Egadi Islands.

Trapani Airport has a new Departure lounge which even has an escalator! But there are very few other facilities. There is an ATM and parking but no shops, banks or restaurants.
