Fuerteventura is popular spot for holiday makers all year round because of its climate. The best way to discover the island is by car rental. The airport has only been running since the 1960s and last year handled almost 4.5 million passengers in just one small terminal building.

The terminal is split into two levels, with departure gates found on the upper level. Airside offers a supervised children's play area, cafés and snack bars. Duty free and souvenir shops are mostly here, where you can find the last minute gifts. On the lower level after baggage claim there are information desks and windows for car hire at Fuerteventura Airport Canary Islands (FUE).

There are three ATMs situated across both levels and a bureau de change found in the Arrivals area. For cheap car hire at Fuerteventura Airport Canary Islands (FUE), you will find budget car rental desks on both levels. A taxi rank is just outside the main doors where you can travel anywhere on the island. Local bus services also travel to all the main destinations.

Car parking spaces are limited to just 1,700 – a mix of long and short stay. Disabled passengers parking is at the front short stay car park closest to the building. Assistance is offered with luggage and check-in and free wheelchairs to your departure gate.

If you want to go out and explore the island, the most convenient way to do this is hiring a car. There are 150 beaches here to find and relax on. Quaint little fishing villages are dotted around the island as well as whale watching spots. Windsurfing is popular here with the Atlantic wind blow one way and the Sahara blowing the other.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

Only rental companies with a high level of customer satisfaction are eligible to be included in our Worry-Free selection. This rate includes excess cover and unlimited kilometres. Your vehicle will be provided and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. With a vehicle from our Worry-Free selection, you can travel with peace of mind and no hidden costs.

 How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

 When will I get a confirmation of my booking?

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
